Maintain Default Year and Block {FBLM-1}


This option is used to validate that the applicants who are maintained under {FBLO-4} are entered for the correct year and block.


Fields in the option:

Use Admission Year and Block A1  If this parameter is set to Yes, the year and block of the last qualification application for which the student was admitted in {SNAPPA-3} will be used.
Use Registration Year and Block A1 If this parameter is set to Yes, the system will look at the current primary qualification of the student {SREGAR-1}, and use the same year and block.
Use Default Year and Block A1 If this parameter is set to Yes, the program will use the year and block that are defined as the default application year and default application block in this option.
  • If all three above parameters are set to Yes, the rule the program will follow to obtain the year and block when a bursary application is processed on {FBLO-4} will be:
    • it will first look for an admission year and block to use for the student
    • if no admission record found, it will look for a registration year and block for the student
    • if a registration record could also not be found, the default year and block will be used
Default Application Year  YYYY The year that will be used as the default year when bursary applications are processed and the system is set to use the default year and block above.
Default Application Block A2 The block that will be used as the default block when bursary applications are processed and the system is set to use the default year and block above.
Cash Book Code A5 The bank, branch and account number of the cash book entered here will be used by the NSFAS interim report {FBLN-26} to generate a cover letter for the report.
